   POST TITLE:      National RMNCAH Consultant

                                    (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health)           

                             

DUTY STATION:      Port Vila, Vanuatu

CONTRACT:            Individual Contract

DURATION:             11 months

 

The National RMNCAH consultancy is located in the Pacific Sub-Regional Office in Port Vila, Vanuatu and reports to the Sexual Reproductive Health Specialist, UNFPA. The consultant will be based in the Ministry of Health RMNCAH Unit in the Public Health Department and will also be overseen by the Director of Health. S/he is part of the programme team and works closely with the Vanuatu and Fiji staff in the Sub-Regional Office.

Job Purpose

The National Consultant will support the implementation of interventions funded through UNFPA’s Transformative Agenda programme through technical capacity and project management support to the Ministry of Health RMNCAH team. The successful candidate will work at the national and provincial levels to ensure that the agreed strategic interventions are implemented in the context of the 2030 SDG Agenda, ICPD Programme of Action and UNFPA Strategic Plan at the global level, the UN Pacific Strategy, UNFPA sub-regional programme at the regional level, and the National Sustainable Development Plan, Health Sector Strategy and RMNCAH Policy and Implementation Strategy of Vanuatu

 

Qualifications

·Minimum healthcare qualification (license) in nursing, midwifery or medicine (with strong preference for midwifery qualification) with 6 years of relevant professional experience preferably in programme/project management in the public or private sector especially in development.

OR

· Minimum (Bachelor’s) degree in education, health sciences (nursing, midwifery, medicine or other health sciences), public health, health promotion or other relevant fields with minimum of seven (7) years professional experience.

OR

·Minimum Master’s degree in public health, reproductive health, gender, epidemiology, social development, social sciences such as management, health economics, international development, public administration or other relevant fields with Minimum of five (5) years professional experience.

 

Conditions & Remuneration: UNFPA PSRO will contract the successful candidate under an individual contract and will be responsible for the payment of fees payable according to qualification and standard terms of payment and subject to satisfactory completion of assigned outputs.  Payment will be made on completion of a monthly report.
