The Procurement Assistant post is located in the Pacific Sub-Regional Office (SRO) and reports to the HR Admin Associate who provides overall direction and guidance. S/he is part of the Operations team and works closely with operations and programme staff in the Sub-Regional Office.

Job Purpose

The Procurement Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient functioning of the procurement and logistics systems in support of the programme and office management.

Key results expected include:

 

q  Implementation of operational strategies

q  Support to procurement processes

q  Implementation of sourcing strategy

q  Control of Office Assets

q  Provision of logistical services

q  Support to knowledge building and knowledge sharing

 

Qualifications

·Completion of secondary level or an equivalent high school education is required;

·First level University degree in Administration, Procurement, Business/Public Management or related field is preferable.

·Formal recognized training or local/international certification in logistics or procurement is desirable

·Minimum of five (5) years of working experience in procurement, administration, logistics or related field in an international organization or private/public/Government sector is required.

 

 

Conditions & Remuneration: UNFPA PSRO will contract the successful candidate under an individual contract and will be responsible for the payment of fees payable according to qualification and standard terms of payment and subject to satisfactory completion of assigned outputs.  Payment will be made on completion of a monthly report.
